17. Landscapes Plus: Realistic Pictorial Quilts

Even if you don't have artistic skills, this course will teach you landscape and architectural techniques to achieve realism. Hand and machine appliqué, confetti techniques, raw-edge appliqué, custom painting, enlargement and composition will be demonstrated. Choose which method you prefer to interpret your own subject matter. By the end of the workshop your quilt will be well underway, if not completed.

In this class you will learn how to make a funky tree skirt with majestic fir trees, reminiscent of the west coast forest. Techniques used include curved piecing, setting triangles to make a large hexagon and a Celtic knot to surround the trunk of your Christmas tree.
