Materials fee: $20, includes:
- Warps made by instructor and mailed to each student before the workshop along with emailed jpgs.
- Workshop binder with 25 + handouts
- Paper and pellon for cartoons
Bring to class:
- 4H table or floor loom already warped
- Personal weaving tools including a boat shuttle or stick shuttle for ground weft
- Drawing pad or sketch book
- Eraser/pencil
- Portable lighting to supplement existing on-site lighting and an extension cord to power it
- Comfortable, adjustable height chair or stool that works with your portable loom
- Rotary cutter, extra blade
- Gridded ruler and mat if you already own them (1 per every 5 students)
- Ground weft yarn to match the diameter of the sent warp. (3/2, 5/2, 6/4, or cotton floss).
- Colour does not matter as the ground warp and weft will not show in the woven project!
- Interesting quilt fabric.
- View the jpgs I will email you before the workshop to see what kinds of fabric to choose.
- Bring one, two or three different pieces that are 1½ yards long
- Pattern inlay yarns.
- Novelty knitting yarns work great. The yarn needs to show up on the surface of the fabric you choose. So yarn that
is brighter or lighter than the fabric color, or yarn that contrasts with the fabric color will work.
