29. A Smart Tee: Building a Dream Wardrobe (Thelma Cook)
Materials fee: $30, includes:
- Several handouts
- S.W. Tee shirt pattern
- Clear elastic
- Interfacing
- Sewing machine needle for knits
- Pressing templates
- Paper for pattern alterations
Bring to class:
Required:
- A sewing machine in good working order with extra needles, manual, extension cord, power bar (can share).
- Light weight pressing cloth;
- Basic sewing kit including shears and pins;
- Ruler;
- Pencil;
- Coloured pencil;
- Scotch tape;
- 1.6m light weight knit fabric with lycra and good recovery (e.g. Jersey, stretch lace, novelty knits - no slinky);
- 1 spool matching thread 100% polyester either Guterman or Mettler or purchase appropriate fabric and thread kit from
instructor ($20.00)
Optional:
- Serger;
- Rotary cutter and mat;
- Twin needle for knits;
- Trims-lace appliqué, beads etc.;
- French curve ruler

30. Make A Custom Bra (Angela Fullwood)
Materials fee: $30, includes:
- Pattern
- All fabric
- Elastics
- Findings
- Underwires
(Please contact Angela before the class at angelaf_570@msn.com
to ensure that she has enough of the correct size underwires ordered
and the correct size patterns copied before class starts).
Bring to class:
- A sewing machine in good working order, must have a zigzag stitch, basic tool kit with extra needles, manual,
extension cord, power bar (can share).
- A ¼ inch edge guide foot or a foot which ensures a perfect ¼ inch seam
- Rotary cutter and mat – mat size does not have to be larger than 12" x 18"
- Paper scissors and fabric scissors
- Machine needles – stretch 75/11
- White thread, lingerie is best, polyester will work.
- Blue wash out marker
- Curve square
- Notions:
- tape measure
- Seam ripper
- Thread snips
- Pins
- Hand sewing needles
- Thimble
- Spare bobbins etc.
