6. Spider Webs and Other Roses

Silk ribbon embroidery is a wonderful way to add roses to your crazy quilt work, garment embellishments and other stitching projects. In this workshop you will add to your repertoire three roses in three different widths: the spider web rose, the gathered rose and the Bradford rose. Silk ribbon techniques will be covered in this sampler class.

7. Embroidery Stitch Sampler

Hand embroidery is a wonderful way to add texture to your crazy quilt work, garment embellishment and other stitching projects. In this workshop you will add a number of stitches to your repertoire — stem, feather, seed, buttonhole, bouillon, fly, split and back stitches. Plus you will create a sample booklet.

In this workshop you will learn how combing stitches can create texture, depth and variety in a needlepoint surface. You'll be inspired to explore new ways to mix stitch and colour and by the endless possibilities for creativity in this medium. At the end of the class you will have an understanding of how this can be done and be well on your way to having a completed piece.
