Take this opportunity to learn two kinds of basketry techniques in the form of a woven necklace or small basket — knotless netting and twining. Both techniques offer many variations to explore. An assortment of materials, such as waxed linen thread, tree barks, driftwood and beads will be on hand so you can design your own unique creation.

Learn the ins and outs of designing continuous twill patterns as you are guided through the process of weaving a plaited basket. In this workshop you will weave a continuous zig-zag pattern and practice changing the width of the weaving material to add drama to the pattern. Dyed cane and reed will be used to create this elegant vase shaped basket.
