Call for Instructors

We're seeking instructors with proven teaching skills as well as expertise in fibre arts techniques. Whether you teach a singular technique (such as Northwest Coast basketry) or one that's a fusion of cross-cultural influences (like Hawaiian applique quilting), we want to hear from you!

Workshops may range from one to three days long. Workshops requiring four days should be proposed as two 2-day workshops. Before applying, we encourage you to browse our website to familiarize yourself with our Festival and our scenic seaside community.

Why submit online?

Like many other arts and cultural events, the Gibsons Landing Fibre Arts Festival is based largely on volunteer time and skills. In order to make best use of these valuable resources, electronic communication with the selection committee speeds up the process & enables us to provide direct access to our printing needs.

"Instructors will be reimbursed for travel. A ticket for car & driver from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale and return will be sent plus other travel costs paid as agreed upon in negotiations. The GLFAF will, on behalf of the instructor, arrange for accommodation for the instructor only. (The instructor is responsible for all others in their party.)"

Please note that it may be necessary to make small editing changes for use in the GLFAF brochure, website, and other promotional tools. Proofing will be done with the Instructor's approval. We cannot guarantee that photographs will be returned to applicant. Instructors are responsible for insuring all samples, tools, and other items that they send, bring to the workshop or loan for display. A formal contract will be sent to those instructors whose courses are selected after all classes are confirmed with the instructors.
