Need story ideas?
Our vast region offers almost endless possibilities. Here are a few suggestions to spark your creativity. You can also use our media releases.
Day trips and short getaways
The Festival takes place in Gibsons Landing, just a 40-minute ferry voyage from Canada's third largest city, Vancouver BC.Yet, as you disembark at the Langdale ferry dock, surrounded by the steep, snow-covered mountains of Howe Sound, you feel as though you've sailed worlds away—which, after all, is why most people come here! (See Guest Information for more details about visiting our region.)
Doing what they love—and the money does follow
Meet the Festival instructors, crafters, speakers, and merchants who've pursued a dream and made it work.At a time when career transitions are not uncommon, following a personal vision may be more possible than we imagine. Each story is unique, and definitely inspiring.
Arts and cultural tourism gaining popularity
Trends show that increasing numbers of consumers are seeking meaningful experiences when they travel. It's a source of personal satisfaction, and, not surprisingly, something of a new status symbol, too.Our region boasts several popular summer celebrations that welcome spectators—better yet, they want you to participate! Check out the Gibsons Landing Fibre Arts Festival, the renowned Festival of the Written Arts, several music festivals, a vintage tugboat rendezvous, outrigger canoe and mountain bike race events, community celebrations, and more.
